Easy Diner Idea
Orange & Tamarind Glazed Ham

Who doesn't love a slice of beautifully golden sliced ham on the bone? This is the easiest ham glaze you will ever make, and Tamarind flavour works beautifully with the ham.

Ingredients

  • A half or whole cooked ham on the bone (we used a Free Range half ham from Harmony Meats)

  • 1 cup of Jenny's Kitchen Tamarind Chutney (any heat you prefer)

  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Method

Carefully remove the skin from the ham, leaving the fat layer as undisturbed as possible. Make shallow cuts into the fat (but not through to the meat) to create the diamond effect.

Heat your oven to 200 deg. Mix together the chutney and the orange juice. If you like a smoother glaze, it can be blended. Fully line your baking dish with a double layer of baking paper. Place the ham on the dish and spoon and baste it with the glaze, covering it as well as possible. Bake it for 30-40 minutes, or until golden, glazing it every 10 minutes.

Enjoy.

PS If you have ham leftovers, try a a toasted cheese, ham and Jenny's Kitchen Tamarind Chutney sandwich.
